Troubleshooting file import/upload errors

Some types of errors do not appear in the Processing Log section (see the log entry under Upload History in Reference Sequence). Major problems with files can prevent file uploading.

Observation

File upload errors.

File validation cannot be attempted.

  • Incorrect file format

  • Incorrect file extension

  • The ZIP file contains no files or multiple files

  • A corrupted ZIP or GZ file

Check for possible errors in the source BED or VCF file.

Fix the errors, or replace the file, then re-attempt the upload.

Reference genome file cannot be opened

  • An invalid FASTA file was uploaded.

  • No FASTA header found at line 1.

  • Genome information text file may have been deleted.

  1. Delete the existing reference sequence entry.

  2. Identify and correct formatting errors in the FASTA file.

  3. Upload the corrected file.
